1. Platform purpose
Ocean Eyes is a digital platform for submitting, organising and displaying marine conservation reports and species sightings in the Maldives.
2. Not an emergency service
Ocean Eyes does not conduct rescues, monitor submissions continuously or guarantee a response. Contact the appropriate emergency or rescue service when immediate action is required.
3. Submitting reports
You agree to submit information you reasonably believe is accurate and to avoid creating harm, trespassing, confronting others or disturbing wildlife to obtain evidence.
4. Photos and permitted use
You confirm that you have the right to submit the photograph. The final terms should specify the limited licence Ocean Eyes needs to store, analyse, moderate, share with approved partners and display the report.
5. AI and verification
AI classifications may be incomplete or incorrect. Public and partner users should rely on the displayed verification status. Human review is required before reports are escalated where legal, reputational or response consequences may follow.
6. Prohibited use
Do not upload unlawful content, fabricated evidence, malware, personal harassment, unrelated personal information or reports intended to expose protected species locations. Automated abuse and repeated false submissions may be blocked.
7. Public map information
Map colours, icons and statuses are informational indicators, not a complete scientific assessment of an area. Historical, unresolved and newly submitted reports may affect the display differently.
8. Availability
The alpha service may change, experience downtime or lose access to third-party tools. Offline storage depends on the user's browser and device remaining available.
9. Liability
The final terms should include limitations appropriate to the operating organisation and applicable law. Nothing in these sample terms should be treated as legal advice.
10. Changes and contact
Terms may be updated as the platform, partners or regulations change. Questions about these terms can be sent to legal@oceaneyesmv.com. The revision date above should be updated whenever material changes are published.
Decide who legally operates Ocean Eyes, who owns submitted data, the complaint process and which law governs the service.
