About Ocean Eyes
Making marine observations easier to report and easier to act on.
Ocean Eyes is an alpha-stage web platform designed for the Maldives. It combines crowdsourced photographs, map-based reporting, AI-assisted classification and human verification to support SDG 14: Life Below Water.
The problem
Important observations are often fragmented or never reported.
Marine damage, pollution, harmful tourism behaviour and unusual sightings may be seen by people who do not know where to send the information. Connectivity can also disappear immediately after a dive.
The approach
Reduce friction, preserve evidence and show follow-through.
The platform asks for only the essentials, stores offline reports locally, helps classify images and keeps visible statuses so contributors can see that their report entered a review process.

Unverified and confirmed information should never look the same.
Location responsibility
Sensitive species coordinates are restricted rather than publicly exposed.
